When You Believe…

sem·i·co·lon

ˈsemēˌkōlən,ˈsemīˌkōlən/

noun

a punctuation mark (;) indicating a pause, typically between two main clauses, that is more pronounced than that indicated by a comma.

Every tattoo on my body has some personal meaning to it. This is a marking that, unless I have it covered, I will bear for the rest of my life as a message to the world as to what I am about or was going through at the time. This is my newest addition.

As an mental health advocate and survivor of suicidal thoughts and depression I chose the word believe with a semicolon replacing the letter ‘i’.

This tattoo encourages me to bel;eve that things will be better and that this is not the end of my journey.

It’s one thing to just say aloud or to myself that even though times are hard that they will be better and things will be okay. It’s a total difference when you actually bel;eve that things will be better or different.

The bel;ef in a better way is what makes it happen. When you truly bel;eve that you will be okay, you will be. You have to bel;eve.

Harry’s Shaving System Review

image

So it’s been about 2 months since I started using Harry’s shaving system. I have to say that I’m loving it so far.

My skin feels less irritated after I shave. I didn’t have an issue with razor bumps before so that wasn’t an issue but after using the after shave that was included, the irritation after my shave is gone. I’ve even started shaving my head with the razors.

The blades are German engineered exclusively for Harry’s. I love the fact that there is space between the blades and the back is open so that the gel and hair won’t clog the blades and it can be easily cleaned. That is one of my problems with other razors. Unless you are using a straight razor then you are bound to have clogged blades that lead to a bad shave and less use out of the blade.

Overall this is a great shaving system that I enjoy using and very economical. While I have decided to join the beard gang again I still use the system to shave my head once a week and actually its a smoother shave than when I used a straight razor. I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking to change shaving systems.

Beard Moisturizer?

So I decided to let my facial hair grow once again. I’ve had this love/hate relationship with my beard for a few years now.  I’ll let it grow out and then out of nowhere and for no apparent reason I’ll just wake up and chop it off.  This time I’m going to keep it for a while. Hopefully.

Anyway, as I was doing some online research for skin moisturizers, I have type 1 diabetes and my skin gets really dry at times, and for some reason I thought I typed face moisturizer but I must have spelled it wrong because Mr. Google asked if I meant beard moisturizer? So of course me being me I said yes and so many responses came back! I had no idea that there were so many moisturizers and oils just for your beard.

Some promoted softness, some promoted growth and others promoted just moisturizing and keeping it from drying out. I’m going to order a few and do some product testing.

I guess with the return of the beard that I should have known that this would be a thing, I just never really thought about it. I still have to order some moisturizer too so I guess I’ll get some of those and review them as well. The one that I’m currently using is from eyes lip face but they have discontinued it. I’ll check back later with my haul and what worked best.
