London Has Fallen – Movie Review C+

I went to see London Has Fallen on the Saturday of its opening weekend. This is the sequel to the 2013 action thriller Olympus Has Fallen starring Gerard Butler. This time around the action takes place on a global scale.

Gerard Butler reprises his role as Mike Banning, secret service agent. Though this time around it seems as if he has gotten a promotion. Morgan Freeman returns as Martin Trumbell. He is no longer just the speaker of the house. He is the vice president. Angela Bassett returns as director of the secret service and Aaron Eckhart takes on the role of the president once again.  The premise of the movie is that there has been a death of London’s prime minister and dignitaries and world leaders from all over the world converge on London for the funeral and chaos ensues as a major terrorist organization targets and tries to kill them all.

I enjoyed the movie as it was similar to the last one. The action scenes were really incredible. While of course it isn’t really believable that some of these things would really happen, it is still a worthwhile movie along the same vein as the die hard series. Lots of action to keep your attention and just enough drama to keep the story moving along. I would recommend this. I give it a solid C+.
